Your new role
The Learning Experience Designer (LXD) is responsible for designing and developing effective learning experiences and instructional materials. LXDs collaborate with subject matter experts, instructors, and stakeholders to analyze learning needs, design curriculum, and create engaging instructional content. Instructional designers apply instructional design principles, learning theories, and technology tools to design and deliver impactful learning experiences. They work on various modalities, including traditional classroom settings, e-learning platforms, and blended learning approaches. The role requires strong communication, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and instructional design trends. LXDs have in depth knowledge of teaching pedagogy and adult learning principles that guide the design of engaging, interactive and impactful learning experiences.
What you'll be working on
- - Design innovative learning solutions that meet business needs;
- - Design user-centered experiences that motivate and captivate learners;
- - Create engaging learning content by developing interactive games and other activities that actively engage participants and promote the acquisition of new skills;
- - Collaborate y with subject matter experts (SMES) to assess, design, implement, and evaluate online and blended learning experiences that align with organizational objectives;
- - Recognize the diverse objectives and perspectives of other departments and actively collaborate with colleagues to ensure that initiatives of the department are aligned to broader crossenterprise objectives;
- - Adapt to new technologies and stay updated with emerging trends in digital learning;
- - Analyze data and gather insights to inform the design and development of learning solutions;
- - Design and implement evaluation and assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning experiences;
- - Translate complex concepts into clear and concise instructions for learners;
- - Apply expertise in learning experience design (LXD) and instructional design principles to develop engaging and effective learning materials and activities;
- - Think outside the box and propose new approaches that enhance learner engagement and promote skill development;
- - Utilize multiple modalities and technologies to deliver learning experiences. This includes eLearning, virtual instructor-led sessions, and performance support resources such as job aids, process guides, and self-directed learning paths.
What you will be bringing to your new role
- - Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or Education or equivalent, and related professional certification and/or experience;
- - Minimum of 5 years of recent and related occupational experience;
- - Advanced knowledge of Learning Management systems;
- - Familiarity with a variety of learning technologies and tools, including learning management systems (LMS), authoring tools, virtual learning platforms, and eLearning development software;
- - Intermediate to advanced skills in using web and media-based technologies for education including but not limited to: Genially, Padlet, Canva, Streams, YouTube, Camtasia, Articulate 360, Adobe c\Creative Suite, and HTML5;
- - Strong knowledge and expertise in instructional design principles and methodologies, including needs analysis, content development, and evaluation;
- - Proven success in developing high-quality learning content, including written materials, multimedia elements, graphics, and other visual assets.;
- - Proficiency in utilizing multimedia tools and technologies to create interactive learning materials, such as videos, simulations, games, and interactive modules. Knowledge of multimedia design principles and techniques;
- - Strong research skills to identify and evaluate current trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in instructional design and learning experience design;
- - Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams;
- - A creative mindset to design innovative and engaging learning experiences;
- - Strong project management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively;
- - Ability to effectively gather feedback, analyze data, and make data-driven improvements to enhance the learning outcomes.
